The Elise with the Toyota engine (rather than the Rover) is a lot more expensive and didn’t want the rover engined one, also the VX has abs whereas the elise doesn’t

Getting in is ok for me, it’s the getting out with the roof on that is a bit inconvenient lol

I don’t know if it fits the UK version of the engine, but that 2.2L Ecotec has a factory supercharger kit for the Cavalier/Sunfire/Cobalt.

yeah it’s a fairly common mod that people do on the owners forum from what I’ve seen, I think I’ll get used to the car before adding 100bhp to it lol

Yes I did really do it after thinking it over the weekend (and will a little encouragement from oppo) as for the opel query nope Vauxhall, it’s slightly different to the Saturn Sky so not sure if a swap would be possible

Nice, I love how those look. I have a friend over on this side of the pond that has an Elise, but he only drives it on nice days. Red was probably a good choice, my friend’s is asphalt colored and he says he’s just constantly nearly being hit by people not seeing him when he drives it.

Here stateside we had a Saturn Sky Redline turbo in our shop last week. We had to sort it out for the owner. Was dumping excess fuel to the point the oil was diluted and some raw gas coming out the tail pipe. Scary stuff. Someone had been tinkering with things and some things wrong causing the condition. I’m pretty certain one incorrectly ran wire was feeding a constant signal for the injectors to flow.

2.2 N/A but it’s the same engine as the Cobalt SS so can add a supercharger later on if I get bored

Its amazing what people can screw up when they think they know what they are doing. There are a lot of good DIYers but I think maybe twice that many that shouldn’t even open the hood. We were surprised the catalyst weren’t ruined yet from all that fuel but maybe they had been gutted. At least it ran after we fixed the wiring issue.
